She loves hiking and fishing, which only strengthen her love of the natural wonders of this world. Dorothy enjoys living in the metropolitan area of Houston, Texas, with her spouse. Her work has also appeared on numerous catalog covers, and her private patrons have commissioned and collected her paintings for more than twenty years. A native Texan who's had enormous success in and around the area and participated in many competitions and gallery showings, Dorothy's work is represented in the collections of corporate and business patrons.

In her portrait studio, Dorothy captures moments that allow people to relive magic memories for years to come. She can also do this with animals, and even her landscapes have a realism rarely seen in works by other painters. Dorothy not only has the ability to paint what she sees, but is able to reach into the soul of her subject, painting each person as if she had known them for years. She has studied with Texas artist Dick Turner, and several others including Dalhart Windberg, and Daniel Greene. To this day, painting remains her greatest passion and talent. After classical training, this multi-skilled portrait artist developed an unmistakable talent for both oils on canvas and watercolor. My years of self-directed study enable me to experiment and discover new ways to capture beauty in a vivid and visually seductive form. My years of organized study with inspiring teachers such as John Holloway here in Houston or with other artists in Singapore or Scotland have presented new ways to express my love of nature and its beauty.
